    ...too old for this shit?

All kidding aside, he's pretty aged, I can't really see him faithfully doing the Terminator as he was back in the 80's and 90's. I mean yeah, make-up and CG and all, but even then.

Yeah, I have to admit that it sounds like nothing but a paycheck. Given that the last two Terminator films were pretty forgettable, I'm hoping that they just do a reboot. Wipe everything clean, start with a brand new story, and get a real director (with a real name, not a nickname).

If they do a reboot, they could bring in Arnie in a small role. Make him a military leader responsible for pushing through Skynet, rewarded for his years of service to the country by being the first 3D model used to create a humanoid Terminator. That could work. It would even explain why he's 60-65 years old, yet the Terminator looks half that age. See? It's not hopeless. It's just incredibly unlikely that this will turn into a good film.

Why would you wipe one of the most well-known and coolest stories in the whole genre? That would just be asking for trouble. This isn't Superman, Batman, Spiderman, Judge Dredd or Total Recall - i.e. the source material is the movie. Wipe everything clean, and you might as well not even be making a Terminator movie. I hope I never see the day when the first two are remade. If you must "reboot", "reboot" bad movies that could/should have been good (Daredevil and Resident Evil come immediately to mind).

I liked Terminator 3 a) Because Arnold played the T-850 like an old obsolete model and it worked. b) They didnt wimp out with the ending...the nukes actually flew. c) Claire Danes.

I was beginning to think I was alone in liking that movie. I thought Christian Bale and Sam Worthington both gave particularly good performances. Bale was a pretty obvious choice to play John Connor in the future, having done such an excellent job playing a similar role in Reign of Fire. So I knew at least that it wasn't completely going to suck when they announced him for the role. And despite my reservations about McG's directing, I must say I was pleasantly surprised by the end result.
