Submission + - Canonical Adds Kill Switch After Ubuntu Privacy Row (techweekeurope.co.uk)

judgecorp writes: "Canonical has responded to privacy concerns, and built a kill switch to a feature in the Quantal Quetzal version of Ubuntu, which gave Amazon access to users' search terms, effectively letting the online store add adverts to the list of responses. That's good — but there's a big drawback. To disable the Amazon privacy breach, users will also have to disable access to other online search results."
