Is it a real monolith this time or some sloppily put together sheet metal that some undereducated journalist who has never been to a machine shop calls "monolith"?
The "looped markings" look a lot like really bad milling. like someone was trying to finish a surface and they had to throw it out.
Lesson for Apple to make their products even shittier and make more money, there. "It's not a blemish. It's /DeSiIiGn/!" ;)
