This is the lefts cancel culture hard at work looking for anything to tar someone with. I may agree with BLM s basic message, but how they went about burning and looting was a farce that was allowed to continue far too long. The republicans had both houses and the president two years ago. You lost the senate by the narrowest possible margin and have plenty of congress people, a good number of state legislatures and a lot of votes for president. You're not fucking oppressed at all never mind like the Jews in 1930s/40s Germany, and it's fucking disgusting that you think you are.
Oh and if you think she was fired for being right wing then you're claiming antisemitism is a right wing position. That's utterly insane.
I simply read this as she's been making a lot of posts on Twitter lately that, for some, approach to the edge of problematic. She keeps doing it after Disney starts getting calls. At a certain point, if you're a boss behaving responsibly you tell the employee to tone things down for a while just to give everyone a break. When they keep on with what's causing a stir you almost have no choice but to fire them for not listening to you. That's how I see this - it isn't even about the tweet's contents rather
Or she refused to be silenced by the very vocal minority of people that have been complaining about her for months. She may have decided that sticking to her principals was more important than giving in to mob intimidation.
When was the list time you saw sustained social media campaigns asking to get people fired for having far left political tweets? There's just as much crazy to the far left as there is to the far right.
And that's fine - I personally don't begrudge refusing to be silenced. Being self-aware that this could risk your job by continuing to Tweet is a personal decision. I agree it's insanity that social media interaction can do this, but I'm pretty sure Disney talked to her about that already. If that's the reaction then, well, she decided the risk was worth it.
Unless you count posting here as social media, I don't use it at all. There's no benefit to it for me. Actors, or public personalities, must have a
Honestly she got away with more that most of us pleebs would have been allowed to without losing our jobs a long time ago, so I'm not heartbroken over this. Conservatives have been the party of deregulation, anti-union, right to work laws etc, and now that attitude is biting them in the ass when controversial posts get you booted from your job.
I am not agreeing with anything she is saying, but she should have a right to say it. Political disagreement and hyperbole should not cost you your job.
Oh she has the right to say it alright and Disney have the right to not employ her.
And why precisely should a "political disagreement" have special privileges over other kinds? Because wanting to enforce bad ideas with the force of law is somehow less objectionable?
Thing is she's an actor, which is by its nature a pubic facing role. By acting an asshat online she could well hurt the ratings of the show. Do you think Disney should allow their employees to get a free pass on destroying their ratings because
