Paramount+ to Be Bundled With Walmart+ Membership Program (variety.com) 11

Walmart reached a deal with Paramount Global to include the Paramount+ streaming service as part of the retailing giant's Walmart+ membership program starting in September. Variety reports: The Paramount+ Essential plan, which includes ads, will be available for no extra cost to Walmart+ members. In the U.S., Paramount+ Essential is regularly $4.99/month. The Essential plan does not include local live CBS stations (available only in Paramount+ Premium, $9.99/month), but it does provide NFL and UEFA Champions League games available via separate live feeds.

The move by Walmart is intended to make Walmart+, which launched in September 2020, more competitive with Amazon's Prime by adding a streaming-entertainment component. Walmart+ costs $12.95 per month (or $98 per year), providing subscribers with same-day delivery on more than 160,000 products. Program members also can save up to 10 cents per gallon on gas at more than 14,000 participating stations nationwide and get up to six months of Spotify Premium for free.
"In announcing Q2 earnings, Paramount said that Paramount+ now has 43.3 million paid customers, a net add of 3.7 million for the June quarter (including 1.2 million disconnects in Russia)," adds the report. Walmart does not disclose the number of Walmart+ members, but according to a Morgan Stanley survey in May, "the service has around 16 million members compared with about 15 million in November 2021."

  • People complaining that China took all the good paying jobs on their way to Walmart.

  • Buy my family traveled for a week to visit Walley World!

Unfortunately for their strategy, most of the Wally World customers have already decided to cancel their lifelong love of the NFL. For "various reasons."

And they're not gonna switch to watching soccer. For "various reasons."

  • Make it without ads and I will reconsider cancelling my subscription when it's due for renewal in October. I am tired of paying Walmart so I can do their associates work for them. Cheaper gas it good but not enough to cover the subscription rate. Other than that, Walmart+ don't have anything for me.

Walmart+ is useless. They are using third party delivery and you have to tip them when you make your order. I think they started the tips here at 10 dollars when I signed up, effectively making the service you are paying for more expensive and offering no benefit at that price point when I can just drive two minutes in any direction to get to a Walmart and use the pickup service to get my stuff with very little hassle.

    • Isn't the pick up service a fee without Walmart+?

Either way, there are times where it's worth the tip to have my groceries delivered to me. I usually tip it similar to how I tip a waiter, though.

      • Pick up is free. You just shop online, order, show up, and they bring it out.

The reason I say that the Walmart+ is worthless is that you pay for it, it basically does nothing for you grocery wise, then you have to pay the delivery driver who comes from a third party. If pickup is free, why am needing to pay Walmart to load someone else's car when they load mine for free on top of the fee for delivery that will be charged?

  • Thanks for the membership latest updates would work for me. I wanted to become a member of the company and hope the information here quite provoking. Really like your tremendous work about Walmart here and would like to be part of the company. Thumbs up with your further thesis vs dissertation [dissertation-service.org] sharing these would be wise.
  • Didn't see any shows/movies I wanted to pay to see. And don't need Walmart+.
    • Seems like these days I am watching HBO Max, Hulu and Paramount+ the most, followed by Netflix and, coming up last are Amazon and Disney+.

This halves the amount of work I need to do to ignore both of them.
