Sony's Crunchyroll streaming service dedicated to anime has passed 15 million monthly paid subscribers. "Today marks an exciting milestone not only for Crunchyroll, but for the entire anime industry," Rahul Purini, president of Crunchyroll, said in a press release. "It is proof that the rich stories, characters and experiences that our partners create are resonating deeply with fans at record numbers all over the world. As the number of people excited about anime continues to explode and the breadth of content continues to widen, we believe it has never been a better time to be an anime fan." TheWrap reports: Currently, the streamer has the world's largest streaming library dedicated to anime, including 50,000 episodes and more than 25,000 hours of anime series, music and films. Every season, the streamer brings in between 45 and 60 new and returning series to its service. Those include series such as "Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba," "JUJUTSU KAISEN," "One Piece," "Chainsaw Man" and "Solo Leveling." Last year, the streamer also partnered with SMEJ (Sony Music Entertainment Japan) to bring anime-related music to the platform, a collaboration that has resulted in 3,300 music videos and concerts so far.

After about 20 years of getting my anime from CartoonNetwork -> Xfinity OnDemand -> hulu (which has a subset of crunchy roll stuff) and netflix... i finally signed up two months ago. It's been quite alright. (although TBH their app at least on the roku OS TV is nothing to write home about).
Much more content than i can (healthily) consume.
Kinda wonder what all these cookie-cutter "reincarnation isekai" series say about the modern Japanese psyche...

If you get off official channels on CR itself, and go look at what people on anime forums in general say, a large percentage, probably a majority has intense dislike for it. Reasons range from censoring anime outright, horrible translations (main CR rip group until recently was literally called "horrible subs") and constant attempts to push wokeness and general Westernization into anime in Japan.
They even tried to make their own anime that would be fully woke and Westernized, to show Japanese how it's done.

You seem to be making the mistake of believing that the posters on these forums are representative of the whole population. They are not. The more unhappy one is, the more likely they are to be vocal about it.
Sure, some folks are displeased. But conflating them to the majority is probably incorrect.

Do you realise that there are more anime pirates than crunchyroll subscribers, as anime has been fansubbed for so long that piracy is a norm rather than an exception everywhere outside Japan?
Do you realise that this means that the opposite is true - those on crunchyroll forums are the minority who don't know any better, and everyone else get their anime at least at non-shit video quality (and often re-edited at the very least)?
