It's funny. Laugh. The Media News

Taiwan Tabloid Sensation Next Media Recreate News 40

Ant writes "Next Media Animation (NWA) became popular due to its animated and sometimes humorous renderings for world news. Their official videos can be found on YouTube." They start by covering the Tiger Woods animation that made these guys known, and then talk about the process and the people behind it. I've attached an Apple video that you might have bumped into recently as well... it's worth the watch if you haven't seen it yet.

  • Is it just me, or should there be an "s" at the end of "Recreate?"

"Taiwan Tabloid Sensation Next Media Recreates News" seems to make a lot more sense.

    • News is plural, so no.

"News" has nothing to do with it. In English, verb plurality is determined by the subject, not the object.

The issue is whether or not "Next Media" is plural or not.

I see what you did there!

Seriously though, slashdot. Is this front-page worthy? What's next? A video of a dog that thinks its people? Do the people running this site even care anymore about the content, or has their inner geek died over the years?

News is plural the way sand is plural, and "news" is not verbing; "Next Media" is.

Seriously? It's like we're not even trying anymore.

No one around here has been trying for a while. Check out ArsTechnica for the news stories you'll see here in the next few hours/days. When you do get a submission it's just a copy/paste from another site/blog. Really, Slashdot has become nothing more than a really slow news aggregation site with, arguably, the best commentary around. At least I haven't been able to find a suitable replacement in that regard.

Exactly, the comments are the only reason I still come here. There are some really smart people here, as well as the most worthless trolls on the internet.

Don't worry! Ars has been heading the way of the content aggregator for a while now, and has recently started featuring articles from affiliates. It's only a matter of time before Ars turns to shit too. Would you like some more iPhone stories? No? How about some iPad then for a change? There you go.

Soon we'll get meta-articles on slashdot where they repost an article about ars posting an article originally written by Wired about the latest thing in mobile devices. And we all know how shitty Wired is.

In the unlikely event that geeknet continues [fool.com] to run this site as a going concern, can someone make sure they get the memo about removing the "idle" and "entertainment" sections?

    Thanks.

Indeed, the article could have tried to be a little more informative.

  • South Park does it better.
  • I don't know if this Palin animation is from the same company, but it's funny as hell. Sarah's palm notes are shown with "Norwegians = Dutch, sorta", and with "Drill Baby Drill" crossed off after the BP fiasco. And a Trigger-happy Trigg. (Anybody translate Chinese here?) Enjoy:
